Apparently folks in Louisiana believe the Air Force has decided to place its new Cyber Command at Barksdale Air Force Base. The Shreveport Times reports that Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne told a gathering in Shreveport that the service would stand up an “interim” command “provisionally” at Barksdale, home to 8th Air Force which has been working to set up the new major command. Those words may imply a “leg up” over the other locales interested in securing Cyber Command, but we don’t think that indicates it’s a done deal. However, Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) appears to think otherwise. She told the newspaper, “All the stars were aligned.”
