A recent editorial in the San Antonio Express-News touts existing assets that should serve as “a magnet” to draw the Air Force’s new Cyber Command to establish headquarters in San Antonio. The Texas Congressional delegation has added its efforts to the push to secure the new command, as are officials in California, Louisiana, and Nebraska. The Express-News calls San Antonio the “logical choice” since it already has many cyber-related military elements and a cyber and information technology-oriented educational infrastructure. Still, if that’s not enough, it notes, “The Alamo City is arguably the most military-friendly community in the nation.”
