According to an April 23 Pacific Air Forces release, Elmendorf was pitted against Dover AFB, Del., in the final round. PACAF noted it is the sixth time the command has earned top USAF base honors. The Pentagon also recently released the Secretary of Defense environmental award winners, including Hill AFB, Utah, for environmental restoration—installation; Stephen Sieber at Eglin AFB, Fla., for natural resources; Regina Butler at Patrick AFB, Fla., for environmental restoration—individual/team; and the Acquisition Environmental and Occupational Health Risk Management Branch with the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, for excellence in weapons system acquisition—team.
