Officials at Ramstein AB, Germany, hosted a senior delegation from the Romanian air force for discussions on training cooperation and strengthening the bilateral military relationship, according to a base release. Among the sites Romanian air force Maj. Gen. Niculae Tabarcia and his colleagues visited during the June 28 tour were the 603rd Air and Space Operations Center, the aerial port, and the noncommissioned officer schools, states the July 12 release. “This was a great opportunity for us to enhance the already strong cooperative relationship between USAFE and the Romanian air force,” said Brig. Gen. Thomas Sharpy, US Air Forces in Europe’s director of plans, programs, and analyses. During his time at the 603rd AOC, Tabarcia received briefings on missile defense. The Romanians also observed NCO classes and inquired about the base’s C-130J fleet, according to the release. “They were very eager to learn,” said TSgt. Carnard Drayton, 435th Air Ground Operations Wing mobile aerial port flight supervisor.
