The Senate recently confirmed Gen. Robin Rand to be the first four-star commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, according to a March 27 internal Air Force memo. Rand, a command pilot with more than 5,000 hours in the F-16, T-38, and T-37, has led Air Education and Training Command since October 2013. Lt. Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski, who currently serves as military deputy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition at the Pentagon, will receive her fourth star for a new assignment as commander of Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Other confirmations include, Lt. Gen. Stephen Wilson, current head of AFGSC, to be deputy commander of US Strategic Command at Offutt AFB, Neb.; Maj. Gen. Arnold Bunch, commander of the Air Force Test Center at Edwards AFB, Calif., will receive his third star and replace Pawlikowski at the Pentagon; Maj. Gen. John Dolan, US Pacific Command chief of staff, also will receive a third star for his new assignment as commander of US Forces Japan and Fifth Air Force; Maj. Gen. Mark Ediger, deputy surgeon general of the Air Force, will receive a third star for his new assignment as Surgeon General of the Air Force; and Maj. Gen. Lee Levy, vice director for logistics on the Joint Staff, will receive a third star for his new assignment as commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker AFB, Okla.
