Members of the 435th Contingency Response Group at Ramstein AB, Germany, recently spent several days at Cerklje AB, Slovenia, to help the Slovenes improve airfield security procedures, announced Ramstein officials. “This was an excellent learning opportunity for all participants,” said SSgt. Matthew Meadows, a 435th CRG air adviser and security forces instructor, in the base’s Feb. 21 release. The partnership-building exchange took place from Jan. 21 to Jan. 25. “Security considerations are a cooperative endeavor by nature,” said MSgt. Jay Peavey, the 435th CRG air adviser and security superintendent. The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
