The Air Force informed us that, on page A37 of the service’s Fiscal 2016 Budget Overview document, the correct number of A-10s in the Active Duty force in Fiscal 2015 is 143 (not 54 as listed). Also, on that same page, the correct number of A-10s in the Air National Guard’s inventory in Fiscal 2015 is 85 (not 64).
The Air Force has embraced new technical approaches like open mission systems and rapid software updates for cutting-edge aircraft like the B-21 and Collaborative Combat Aircraft.
