Maj. Gen. Patrick Moisio, an Arizona Air Guardsman, became deputy director of the Air National Guard on March 6. “I look forward to working with Maj. Gen. Moisio,” said Lt. Gen. Bud Wyatt, ANG director, in a release March 6. Wyatt, who named Moisio for the position, added that Moisio “brings extensive field experience and [Quadrennial Defense Review] expertise that will benefit the Air National Guard, the US Air Force, and our nation.” Moisio’s most recent assignment was as the commander of the 162nd Fighter Wing, an F-16 pilot training unit at Tucson International Airport. He joined the Air Guard in 1984 after serving as an A-7D and A-10 pilot, and lastly as an A-10 instructor pilot, in the active duty Air Force. A graduate of the Air Force Academy, Moisio succeeds Brig. Gen. Stanley Clarke III, who left the post in June 2008 to become the military assistant to the Air Force deputy chief of staff for strategic plans and programs.
