Officials at Robins AFB, Ga., and local community leaders signed three memorandums of understanding intended to reduce operating and service costs by sharing resources, according to a base release. Under the initial MOUs—part of the Air Force Community Partnerships Initiative—the 78th Security Forces Squadron at Robins and local law enforcement agencies will share firing ranges. Additional MOUs will allow for “continuing medical education between regional healthcare entities and the base clinic, and work/study programs between regional colleges/universities and the base education office,” states the June 21 release. “These signing agreements show Robins’ commitment in creating practical partnerships with our local community,” said Col. Christopher Hill, 78th Air Base Wing installation commander, in a separate release. Base officials and local businesses have been participating in planning meetings since February and additional partnership opportunities are expected, states the release.
