The Air Force has assigned Lt. Gen. Clyde Moore to command the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, announced the Defense Department on Wednesday. Air Force Materiel Command created the center last fall as part of the command-wide reorganization that saw it consolidate functions from 12 centers to five. AFLCMC oversees the command’s acquisition mission. Moore has been serving since October as AFMC vice commander.
The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
