Langley AFB, Va., has joined with the city of Hampton to conduct a Joint Land Use Study and plans on Sept. 22 to co-host a citizen outreach meeting at the Hampton Convention Center to discuss the JLUS. Hampton, which has posted a JLUS survey for citizen input on its Website, prompted the study as a means to avoid potential conflicts between the base and new development in the area, reports the Daily Press. Newport News, Poquoson, and York County are also participating in this first such study for Langley, reports the newspaper. The Air Force has started the process of shutting down its diversity and inclusion offices and boards to comply with a sweeping Executive Order from President Donald Trump, though the process is still ongoing, an official told Air & Space Forces Magazine.
