The Miami Heat professional basketball team will hold its preseason training camp at Hurlburt Field, Fla., starting Sept. 28, according to a base release. “We at Hurlburt Field have a proud tradition of excellence and commitment,” said Col. Michael Plehn, commander of Hurlburt’s 1st Special Operations Wing. He added, “We know the Miami Heat share this same commitment to excellence. This is why we’re pleased to support their request to use our facilities for their 2010 training camp.” The revamped Heat lineup features two-time NBA most valuable player Lebron James, whom the Cleveland Cavaliers traded to Miami in the offseason after James announced his intent to bolt to South Beach as a free agent. With James, established Heat star Duane Wade, and new addition Chris Bosh, the Heat are expected to be one of the NBA’s premier teams.
