: An F-16C crashed Tuesday at Nellis AFB, Nev., about 20 miles west of the town of Caliente. The aircraft was participating in an air-to-air combat training mission, said Nellis officials. They said the pilot’s condition is unknown. The airplane went down about 5:30 p.m. local Nevada time.
The Space Force operates satellites that can peer hundreds of miles to observe threats like missile launches on Earth to other spacecraft in orbit. Now, one of the service’s acquisition arms wants to make sure USSF satellites can keep track of dangers right next or on board them.
