Officials with Air Force Space Command and the Defense Information Systems Agency met at Peterson AFB, Colo., to discuss each organization’s activities and explore areas of increased cooperation that could yield greater operational efficiencies and enhance mission assurance. “Today’s event showed both DISA and [AFSPC headquarters] bring complementary perspectives to the cyber domain, and highlighted many ventures in which we can collaborate to support the joint fight,” said Robert Rego, AFSPC chief of space and cyberspace operational integration, of the April 21 meeting. A provision in the fiscal 2025 defense policy bill will require the Defense Department to include the military occupational specialty of service members who die by suicide in its annual report on suicide deaths, though it remains to be seen how much data the department will actually disclose.
