The first Romanian airmen to attend US Air Forces in Europe’s Kisling Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Kapaun AS, Germany, graduated at the end of October. Plutonier (technical sergeant equivalent) Diana-Cristina Mireuta, an air traffic controller at the 90th Airlift Base in Bucharest, completed the six-week course alongside her US Air Force NCO peers. “I really didn’t know what to expect before I came here,” she said, adding, “I thought the emphasis would be on physical training, but I was so happy with all the leadership training we received.” Mireuta participated in the course as part of USAFE’s International Military Education and Training program, which aims to build the capacity of European partner air forces, with an emphasis on NCO development.
