ictions of a potentially bad recruiting year are being proved wrong as all the services meet or exceed their goals once again, according to the latest statistics from the Pentagon. The active Air Force and Air Force Reserve are even for the month of March, while the Air National Guard for a second month in a row attracted more than its goal for enlisted recruits, bringing in an additional 162.
A new report from the Government Accountability Office calls for the Pentagon’s Chief Technology Officer to have budget certification authority over the military services’ research and development accounts—a move the services say would add a burdensome and unnecessary layer of bureaucracy.
