Two members of the 436th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Dover AFB, Del., received Bronze Star Medals on Oct. 30 for their meritorious service while deployed to Southwest Asia. TSgt. Jimmy Heater was recognized for his actions as a combat convoy commander in Iraq, during which he completed 15 convoy missions and logged more than 7,000 miles while safely escorting more than 405 contracted vehicles loaded with more than 25,000 tons of supplies. TSgt. Paul Nelson was honored for his work in training Afghan National Army heavy company commanders and assisting in their convoy security. (Dover report by A1C Matthew Hubby)

When 2nd Lt. Madison Marsh became the first ever active service member crowned Miss America on Jan. 14, top Air Force officials recognized a rare opportunity to reach women and girls who otherwise might not consider military service as an option.
