The museum at Peterson AFB, Colo., has a new ICBM exhibit that features a missile procedures trainer from the early days of the Peacekeeper missile program. The MPT, a self-enclosed building 32 feet by 22 feet, is a mock-up of the former Peacekeeper underground launch control center. It was used to teach missile crews how to effectively and safely operate the Peacekeeper weapon system and then maintain their chops once trained. The museum acquired the trainer from surplus. The Air Force retired the last Peacekeeper missiles in 2005 and now operates exclusively a fleet of Minuteman III ICBMs. (Peterson report by Ed White)
Air Force Changes Rules for Pregnant Aircrew—Again
April 3, 2025
The Air Force is changing its policy for pregnant aircrew, generally reverting to rules set in 2019 that barred female aviators from flying during the first trimester—or from flying in aircraft with ejection seats at all—due to potential risks to the pilot and her unborn fetus.
