The remaining 37 airmen from Yokota AB, Japan, who had deployed to Utapao, Thailand, to support the delivery of relief supplies into Myanmar, have returned to their home base. Yokota C-130 transports from the 374 Airlift Wing, operating from Utapao, ferried relief supplies, including bottled water, mosquito netting, and hygiene kits, into Myanmar starting May 12, 10 days after a powerful cyclone ravaged the Asian nation. A provision in the fiscal 2025 defense policy bill will require the Defense Department to include the military occupational specialty of service members who die by suicide in its annual report on suicide deaths, though it remains to be seen how much data the department will actually disclose.
