Members of the 557th Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron are erecting a 9,000-square-foot complex at their undisclosed operating base in Southwest Asia so that the 1st Expeditionary RED HORSE Group may consolidate all of its headquarters assets under one roof. “This facility will allow us to centralize our operations and our leadership into one facility instead of the four facilities they currently occupy,” said MSgt. Christopher Belknap, 557th ERHS project manager. The 1st ERHG manages construction projects throughout Air Forces Central’s area of responsibility. The new compound should be completed in the spring. “Usually we’re out building stuff for somebody else, but this one time we’re able to build something for ourselves,” said Belknap. RED HORSE units specialize in heavy construction to support forward operating bases. (379th AEW report by SSgt. Nathanael Callon)
