Intel Airman Receives Bronze Star: The Air Force has awarded 1st Lt. Eric Snelgrove a Bronze Star medal for his intelligence work with Army special forces while deployed to northern Iraq from May to November 2007. Snelgrove, commander of the 421st Combat Training Squadron’s intelligence flight at the US Air Force Expeditionary Center on the grounds of Ft. Dix, N.J., was presented with the medal Sept. 24 during a ceremony there. “It’s a huge honor,” he said. He served as fusion cell officer in charge at an Army forward operating base while in Iraq and is credited with supporting combat operations with signals intelligence targeting and exploitation. “I was fortunate enough to have worked with some of the best Army special operations forces in the world, and when you work with the best, they challenge you to be the best,” he said.
