Pentagon announced Jan. 20 that TSgt. Adam K. Ginett, 29, of Knightdale, N.C., died Jan. 19 near Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device. Ginett, an explosive ordnance disposal technician, had deployed from the 31st Civil Engineer Squadron, Aviano AB, Italy.
With the 43-day government shutdown officially over, Air Force and Space Force civilian workers are no longer furloughed, but it may take time to get every employee paid and back in the office, service officials advise.
