Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren seemed to confirm Friday that coalition forces control an airstrip near Rmeilan, Syria, and will use it to supply US forces deploying to that country. The Syrian government has denounced the presence of 150 US troops in the city, which is located in a predominately Kurdish province, the BBC reported. But the Pentagon has remained tight-lipped about US activity there. During a Reddit forum hosted by Warren Friday afternoon, one commenter reported US experts helped enlarge an airstrip near Rmeilan and asked Warren how the coalition will use it going forward. Warren responded: “The soon to be 300 American forces working in Syria need to be resupplied. Aerial resupply only makes good sense.”
