According to Air Force Materiel Command, the Air Force Information Technology Commodity Council saved the Air Force approximately $5.8 million in its latest quarterly purchase of desktop and laptop computer and monitor configurations. The process, which enables a consolidated buy Air Force-wide, has been in place since August 2003, saving a total of $34 million in the purchase of 140,000 computers.
Lt. Gen. Stephen L. Davis, the Department of the Air Force’s top internal watchdog, has been nominated to lead Air Force Global Strike Command, which oversees the service’s bombers and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
