Little Rock AFB, Ark., has become the clearinghouse for Hurricane Katrina relief aid that has started pouring in from overseas. The first international flight touched down at the base on Sept. 5, and through Sept. 7, the base already had received more than 180 tons of cargo and expects another 250 tons in the next few days. From the Arkansas base, it’s going to the Gulf Coast via contract truck drivers.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
