The Air Force’s support of earthquake relief operations continued Nov. 7, with two contracted AN-124 Condors flying in more than 296,000 pounds of water buffalos, a M105 trailer, cargo and utility trucks. As of Nov. 8, the Air Force has airlifted nearly seven million pounds of relief supplies to Pakistan.
As Air Force leaders consider concepts of operations for Collaborative Combat Aircraft, sustainment in the field—and easing that support by using standard parts and limiting variants—should be a key consideration, according to a new study from AFA's Mitchell Institute of Aerospace Studies.
