Henri Fabre, an engineer who had never flown before, makes the first flight of the world’s first seaplane, as he pilots his “Canard” (Duck) from La Mede Harbor near Martigues, France. The flight covers about 1,600 feet and the aircraft reaches an altitude of seven feet.
