Dover C-5M Delivers Aid to Honduras

A C-5M from Dover AFB, Del., on May 13 delivered 85,000 pounds of rice and beans to Honduras as part of an on-going program to deliver aid to countries in need. The mission was conducted as part of the Denton Program, which allows private US citizens and organizations to fly aid on military cargo planes on a space available basis. For this flight, World Empowerment United coordinated with Joint Task Force-Bravo at Soto Cano AB, Honduras, to deliver the aid to the Yoro Department, which works with farmers in the country, according to an Air Force Reserve Command release. The food will reach 8,500 people within two weeks, World Empowerment United estimates. Air Force mobility aircraft regularly move aid through the Denton Program. Last month, two C-17s from JB Charleston, S.C., delivered more than 170,000 pounds of supplies to Haiti.
