Lt. Gen. Brooks Bash, vice commander of Air Mobility Command, ferried the first C-5M Super Galaxy to its new home at the 60th Air Mobility Wing at Travis AFB, Calif., last week from Lockheed Martin’s facility in Marietta, Ga. Lockheed has delivered 19 of a total of 52 Super Galaxies to the Air Force, but this is the first for the West Coast, states a May 8 company release.
The rate of building B-21 bombers would speed up if the fiscal 2026 defense budget passes. But it remains unclear how much capacity would be added, and whether the Air Force would simply build the bombers faster, or buy more.
