Norwegian Military Medical Personnel Visit Ramstein

Norwegian military medical personnel learned about Air Force aeromedical evacuation procedures during a visit to Ramstein AB, Germany, earlier this month, according to a base release. The three-member Norwegian team observed Air Force AE and critical care aeromedical transportation processes from start to finish during the three-day tour, states the Oct. 21 release. The subject-matter-expert exchange was meant to help prepare the Norwegians for the launch of their own CCAT team later this year, states the release. “Part of our mission requires us to work together with other nations, so it’s nice to have the Norwegian team here so we can learn their processes and they can learn from us,” said MSgt. Steven Guillen, US Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa AE functional area manager. During the Oct. 2-4 visit, the Norwegians toured a C-130J configured for AE, witnessed patients being loaded on a C-17, and visited the nearby Landstuhl Regional Medical Center as well as the base’s Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility and the 10th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron.
