Morin Tapped to Oversee Pentagon’s Cost Assessment Office

President Obama nominated Jamie Morin, the Air Force’s assistant secretary of financial management and comptroller, to serve as the Defense Department’s director of cost assessment and program evaluation. If the Senate confirms the Sept. 11 nomination, Morin would replace Christine Fox, who has led the CAPE office since November 2009, as the principal staff assistant to the Defense Secretary for assessing costs and evaluating programs. “I’m honored to be nominated,” said Morin in a Sept. 12 release. “It’s a remarkable opportunity at a critical time for DOD and the nation. While I am preparing for the confirmation process, I look forward to continuing to work with and on behalf of the great airmen in my current role,” he said. Morin has served as the Air Force’s chief financial advisor since 2009. He also served simultaneously as the Air Force’s acting undersecretary from July 2012 to April 2013.
