Members of the Panamanian military visited Rosecrans Air National Guard Base in St. Joseph, Mo., this week where they trained with airmen of the Missouri Air Guard’s 139th Airlift Wing and toured the base. This visit was part of the Missouri National Guard’s continuing partnership with Panama under the National Guard’s State Partnership Program. Among their activities during the July 10-12 visit, the Panamanians checked out the wing’s aircrew flight equipment shop and met with security forces airmen. CMSgt. Mark Frye, shop superintendent, said it was a great opportunity to get to know the Panamanians and share experiences. (St. Joseph report by MSgt. Mike R. Smith)
Air Force Gen. Jacqueline D. Van Ovost—a trailblazer and one of the first 10 women to reach a four-star rank across the U.S. military—retired and passed control of U.S. Transportation Command to Air Force Gen. Randall Reed on Oct. 4, finishing an eventful tenure at TRANSCOM.
