Lt. Gen. Charles Davis has been tapped for assignment as military deputy in the Air Force Secretariat’s acquisition office. Davis has been commander of the Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom AFB, Mass., since last September. He’ll replace Lt. Gen. Janet Wolfenbarger, whom President Obama has nominated for a fourth star for her new assignment as head of Air Force Materiel Command. In another move, Obama has nominated Maj. Gen. Bruce Litchfield for a third star for his new assignment commanding the new Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker AFB, Okla. Litchfield has led the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker since November. The AFSC is scheduled to commence initial operations in October. It will oversee Air Force Materiel Command’s maintenance and supply mission, consolidating the functions of the service’s three air logistics centers. (Wright-Patt release)
