Strong Recruiting Numbers Through April

Through the first seven months of Fiscal 2011, the Air Force has met its recruiting goal, logging 16,153 new accessions or 100 percent of its target. The Air National Guard had been tracking nine recruits under its fiscal-year-to-date targets for the past several months, but reversed that trend in April. It reached 4,006 accessions, six more than its goal through April, according to the Pentagon’s new recruiting figures, released Monday. Meanwhile, the Air Force Reserve has come in 71 new recruits under its goal, with 5,279 accessions. That’s a reversal of the previous several months, when this component was 14 accessions ahead of its year-to-date targets. Across DOD, the Army and its reserve components have exceeded their goals through April. The Marine Corps, Navy, and Navy Reserve have met theirs. The Marine Corps Reserve is tracking well ahead.
