The Air Force active and reserve components have all met their recruiting goals so far in Fiscal 2011. Further, the Army, Marine Corps, and Navy and their reserve components also have met or surpassed their accession goals for the fiscal year to date, based on the Pentagon’s newest recruiting statistics released Tuesday. Through January, the Air Force active duty component has attracted 9,550 new recruits, matching exactly its fiscal year-to-date goal. The Air National Guard has brought in 2,198 accessions so far this fiscal year, meeting its goal. The Air Force Reserve came in 14 recruits ahead of its year-to-date goal through January, with 3,038 accessions so far. (See also last month’s figures.)
The Space Force is finalizing its first contracts for the Commercial Augmentation Space Reserve and plans to award them early in 2025—giving the service access to commercial satellites and other space systems in times of conflict or crisis—officials said Nov. 21.
