Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz last week announced several leadership changes. Maj. Gen. Floyd Carpenter, commander of 8th Air Force (Air Forces Strategic) at Barksdale AFB, La., will move to a new position as special assistant to the commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, also at Barksdale. Replacing Carpenter at 8th AF will be Brig. Gen. Seve Wilson, who’s been director for joint integration on the Air Staff since last July. In another shuffle, Maj. Gen. Mike Holmes will become director of strategic planning on the Air Staff. Holmes is currently principal director for Middle East policy in the Pentagon’s policy shop. Holmes is replacing Maj. Gen. Richard Johnston, who becomes USAF’s new assistant deputy undersecretary for international affairs. (DOD release)
