MSgt. Gregory Miller and SSgt. Thomas Hamilton have each received the Bronze Star Medal for their meritorious service during separate year-long deployments to Afghanistan. Miller, assigned to the 46th Maintenance Squadron at Eglin AFB, Fla., managed nearly $40 million in US armaments during his overseas tour. He also negotiated an ordnance-disposal program with the Afghan government and professionally mentored 64 Afghan army soldiers deployed to Herat. Hamilton, currently with the 17th Training Wing at Goodfellow AFB, Tex., served as noncommissioned officer in charge in the US senior legal advisor office in Kabul. Among his duties, he advised on rules of engagement for coalition forces and helped transport legal affairs personnel. (Eglin report by Sachel Seabrook and Goodfellow report by Connie Hempel)
