The Defense Department last week announced that Lt. Gen. Charles Green, Air Force surgeon general, will be co-chair of the Congressionally mandated Task Force for Care, Management, and Transition of Recovering Wounded, Ill, and Injured Members of the Armed Forces. Green is one of seven DOD members of the 14-person panel, whose mandate is to provide independent advice and recommendations to the Defense Secretary within the next 12 months on the care of wounded military personnel and their families. “The collective expertise and knowledge of the task force members will play a critical role in guiding our efforts to provide the best possible quality of life for service members and families,” said Clifford Stanley, undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness. The non-DOD co-chair will be named at the group’s first official meeting. (DOD release)
