Pope Excels in Logistics Inspection

The 43rd Airlift Wing at Pope AFB, N.C., received an overall “excellent” rating in a logistics compliance assessment held at the base June 14-19. The wing is home to C-130 transports, but its airmen also have to deal at times with C-5s and C-17s. “We took an extremely close and purposeful look at all appropriate logistics areas. There is no doubt the logistics functions in the 43rd AW are fulfilling their mission with excellence,” said Col. William Zeck, who led the team of 29 Air Mobility Command inspectors. The inspectors assessed logistic functions across the 43rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 43rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, and 3rd Aerial Port Squadron. “We received kudos from the inspectors, who said our airmen demonstrate both professionalism and are highly motivated,” said Lt. Col. Michael Estira, 43rd LRS commander. (Pope report by 1st Lt. Cammie Quinn)
