According to a report by the News Bulletin, the Air Force has received the last of its planned 454 T-6A Texan II trainers with the one flown in last week by Capt. Matt Wilcoxen and Capt. Nick Woodrow to NAS Pensacola, Fla., home to USAF’s 479th Flying Training Group. The 479th FTG employs T-6As and T-1A Jayhawks to train Combat Systems Officers, now training in new facilities at Pensacola. The unit now has 22 Texans, according to the newspaper.
The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
