Maj. Jeffrey Magee and Capt. Tom Clerici each received a Bronze Star Medal at separate events in February for their meritorious service in Afghanistan. Magee was recognized Feb. 17 at Lackland AFB, Tex., for his work in assisting the Afghan National Civil Order Police’s chief of logistics, including helping establish the first national vehicle depot outside of Kabul for the Afghan National Army. Clerici, a telecommunications assessments chief at Lackland, received his medal Feb. 9 during a ceremony at Camp Eggers in Kabul, where he served with the NATO Training Mission and Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, advising on matters such as deployment operations, training, soldier retention, and equipment acquisition. The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
