As if they don’t have enough to do in the war theater, USAF and Army medics joined with Afghanistan counterparts to aid some 276 individuals injured during an avalanche Feb. 9 in Parwan Province. In the early morning hours, helicopters began airlifting Afghanis, with about 70 initially delivered to Bagram Airfield, where the Air Force-led Craig Joint Theater Hospital had quickly expanded from a 41-bed facility to more than 100 beds. Some Afghan doctors, who were on hand for a trauma workshop, helped care for the evacuees. (Bagram report by SSgt. Richard Williams)
