The 7th Bomb Wing at Dyess AFB, Tex., and B-1B.org, a non-profit organization promoting the contributions of the B-1B bomber to national defense, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first B-1B delivery to Dyess in conjunction with the base’s open house and airshow April 28-May 2. The anniversary festivities will include current operations briefings, simulator tours, a memorial service, static display, and banquet. The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
