Maj. Gen. Hank Morrow relinquishes command of 1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern) to Maj. Gen. Garry Dean Thursday during a ceremony at Tyndall AFB, Fla. Gen. Gene Renuart, US Northern Command boss, and Gen. William Fraser, head of Air Combat Command, will officiate at the ceremony. Morrow has led 1st AF, which is responsible for the air defense of the continental US, since November 2006. He will become US Defense Representative to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
