Air Education and Training Command on Oct. 23 dedicated a new monument at Randolph AFB, Tex., to the memory of the more than 13,000 aviation cadets and student pilots who have received pilot training at the Texas base since 1917. The monument is located in the center of the circular courtyard between the AETC headquarters building and the command’s Lahm Conference Center. The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
