Air Force officials formally reactivated the 757th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Nellis AFB, Nev., on Sept. 17. The 57th Wing at Nellis decided it needed to split the 57th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in half to provide more focused maintenance efforts. The airmen of the 757th AMXS will maintain 52 aircraft—F-15C/Ds, F-15Es, and A-10Cs, roughly half those previously maintained by the 57th AMXS. The new commander of the 757th AMXS, Maj. Shane Henderson, said at the ceremony, “We have been reactivated to ensure that every pilot knows, before they step into their jet, that they have the best care in the Air Force and their equipment will function properly.” The 757th AMXS was first activated in 2002 at Nellis and deactivated in 2007.
