A two-man US Air Force team from the 1st Communications Maintenance Squadron, part of the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing at Ramstein AB, Germany, has completed the final site survey that will enable installation of a tactical air navigation (TACAN) system at Camp Turzii in Romania. MSgt. Jerry McDonald and TSgt. Aaron Tibbits spend five days checking materials ordered and support work to prepare the site for the installation team next summer. Tibbits said that adding the TACAN capability will provide more realistic training, enabling participants to “see what it will be like downrange.” (Camp Turzii report by A1C Alexandria Mosness)
