The Senate last week confirmed the Air Force’s choice of Maj. Gen. Charles Green as its new Surgeon General, about a month after the White House submitted his nomination. Green, currently serving as deputy Surgeon General, will pin on three stars and replace Lt. Gen. James Roudebush, who has led the service’s medical corps since 2006 and plans to retire officially on Oct. 1.
The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
