According to Russian news reports, Russia plans to deliver 10 MiG-29s to Lebanon, along with other weapons being considered on a list provided to Moscow earlier this week. RIA Novosti news service reports that the advanced fighters will be “sold at a hefty discount.” Currently Lebanon’s air force owns a handful of Hawker Hunter fighters of 1950-60 vintage and a number of combat helicopters. The last remaining T-1 Jayhawk at JBSA-Randolph, Texas, took its final flight to the "Boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on July 15. The 99th Flying Training Squadron will train pilots using T-6 and simulator until it gets T-7 Red Hawk in fiscal 2026.
