0 medics from Air Force Reserve units in Arizona, Massachusetts, and New York took part in medical refresher training and mock drills in operating a contingency aeromedical staging facility during a visit to Kunsan AB, South Korea, from Oct. 18 to Nov. 1. They worked together with Kunsan’s active duty airmen, both doling out training and being on the receiving end. Additionally, while there, the Reservists took inventory of Kunsan’s war readiness materials. “I think this type of training has been going really well and everybody seems to be grasping the concept of what we’re doing and why we’re here,” said SrA. Nikki Lougheed, of the staging facility exercises. She is a Reservist assigned to the 944th Aeromedical Staging Squadron at Luke AFB, Ariz. The Air Force and Boeing agreed to a nearly $2.4 billion contract for a new lot of KC-46 aerial tankers on Nov. 21. The deal, announced by the Pentagon, is for 15 new aircraft in Lot 11 at a cost of $2.389 billion—some $159 million per tail.
